Prevention Summit

Join WELLWVU, Title IX, the Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership, the University Police Department, and Student Conduct as WVU hosts the first annual Prevention Summit! 

Summit Details

The Summit will be hosted on Friday, September 30th from 9 am to 3 pm in the Mountainlair on WVU's Morgantown campus [tentatively with virtual options available]. Prevention experts from across the University and Morgantown community will come together to share the exciting work they've done or are currently implementing in the area of prevention. 

The tentative schedule is as follows: 
  • 8:15 am: Registration Opens
  • 9:00 - 9:50 am: Opening Plenary
  • 10:00 - 10:50 am: Breakout Session #1 
  • 11:00 - 11:50 am: Breakout Session #2 
  • 11:50 am - 1:00 pm: Lunch break/Poster Session/Resource Fair
  • 1:00 - 1:50 pm: Breakout Session #3
  • 2:00 - 3:00 pm: Closing Session 

Session and Poster Proposals

More information on both poster and session proposals will come soon. The submission form will go live on August 1st, 2022. 

If your work falls under any of the prevention categories below, consider submitting a proposal:
  • Sexual or gender-based violence 
  • Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, or other drugs
  • Hazing 
  • Eating disorders and/or disordered eating
  • Mental health or suicide
  • Sexual health/STI/pregnancy prevention
  • Public safety 
  • Medical amnesty
  • Technology-enabled abuse
  • Other topics not listed here! 

Conference Registration

General registration for the Prevention Summit will open on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022. Check back here for the link! There is no charge to attend the Prevention Summit.
