The leadWELL Peer Mentor Training Program teaches students to promote healthy behaviors through effective conversations with fellow students. leadWELL Mentors receive training on how to identify healthy and unhealthy behaviors across several domains: alcohol and other drug use, stress and sleep issues, sexual health, relationship and dating violence, and body image and nutrition concerns. Trainings also include communication and leadership skills.
Now in its third year, the “leadWELL” program is offered in every residence hall and is available to other student groups interested in helping to make WVU a healthier place to live.
If you are interested in becoming a leadWELL mentor or in bringing a training to your organization, please contact the WELLWVU Office of Wellness and Health Promotion at 304-293-5054.
