WELLWVU’s Office of Wellness and Health Promotion was formed in July 2009 with the purpose of delivering comprehensive wellness education to all WVU students. We aim to educate and empower students to live healthy, happy and productive lives. We advocate for policies on campus and in our community that support healthy living and work to shift the culture at West Virginia University to one of health and wellness.
Our work is based on the latest in prevention research and we are committed to best practices in health education and evaluation. To that end, we have strategically paired an experiential and peer led approach to programming with social marketing campaigns to broaden the reach of our messages across campus.
Our liveWELL programs teach students how to create healthy lifestyles and our leadWELL programs provide students with leadership skills related to positive health habits. The many Peer Educators we work with help spread the message of health and wellness across campus.
